Fable II and Halloween

So it's been 10 days since Fable II came out and I am really enjoying it. Those of you who know me are aware of just how long I've been waiting for this game. I currently have 865/1000G. I only need 7 more achievements and they are:

The Completionist
Get all expressions, pet tricks and abilities, or see another Hero do so - 50G
I am currently working on this

The Hoarder
Collect every silver key, or see another Hero do so - 25G
I have to do a third playthrough to get this. So frustrating! There are two keys that if you don't get them in the beginning, you're screwed. LAME!

The Sharpshooter
Hit three enemies with one shot, or see another Hero do so - 10G
This is such a bullshit achievement. Gah!

The Duellist
String together a full-speed chain attack, or see another Hero do so - 10G
Bullshit

The Executioner
Sacrifice 10 ppl in Temple of Shadows, or see another Hero do so - 10G
Working on it, will have it soon

The Teaser
Make bandits respond to expressions with fear, anger, mirth, and confusion... during combat - 5G
Will have it soon

The Gargoyle
Find the gargoyles' legendary treasure - 25G
I only have 15 more to find. There's a total of 50.

If anyone wants to help me get these, you'd be my new hero. ;) Lol

My husband likes to leave the television on Cartoon Network when he goes to bed so I have been watching Goosebumps while writing this post. Man that brings back some memories. I remember this show used to be scary, lol, now it's just lame. However, I don't see myself changing the channel; I think I like the trip down memory lane.

I've been so consumed with Fable II that I completely forgot today is Halloween. The hubby has to work but I am scrambling trying to find a haunted house nearby so we can go when he gets off. Either that or have a scary movie marathon party like we did last year. Hey, it sounds lame but it was loads of fun.

Questionnaire and TF2 Gamerchix Night

Hey everyone!

I got a questionnaire from a girl gamer the other day doing a college project about the way female gamers are treated online. Here's the questions:

1. How much time do you spend in online games per week?

30-35 hours a week

2. As a girl gamer do you feel mistreated and not respected in online games? Please elaborate if yes.

When I first joined Xbox Live, I nearly got offline everyday early because someone had said something disturbing or instulting. After 10 months online however, I have developed quite a thick skin. Most of the insults people dish out don't get to me and I've learned how to utilize the mute button, block communications, the player review, and the file a complaint options. I'm an avid user of all of these. Now as far as being respected, I think a majority of guys have a mindset that because you are a girl, you can't play well. I just work that much harder to make sure I am good at a game so that I prove them wrong. There have been plenty of times that someone has said I can't play well because I'm a girl and I win the game for us or am the top player. That is such a gratifying experience.

3. Have you received any abuse from males in online games of a sexist nature? What was it?

Yes. Yes. Yes. And did I say, "yes?" Every single day I get online I get crap from some guy. I can think of two experiences that I consider the worst... so far. One gamer, his name was PoundherACE (that gamertag within itself is offensive to women) called me "fat bitch" the ENTIRE game. He had absolutely no idea what I looked like and when I assured him I was not fat he told me that all of the girls who play online are fat and ugly. I even won the game for us in sudden death and all he had to say was "look at fat chick, fat chick is good." I did not let him know it bothered me because I did not want to give him the satisfaction but it rocked me to my core. I was very upset. Another example was I was playing in a game one time and I had my 6 year old girl cousin over. She was in another room playing with my husband but she came to tell me that she was hungry. I forgot to turn off my mic when I asked her what she wanted to eat. Some gamer said, "Yeah go eat fat ass" and I told him to cool it, that I was talking to my little cousin and he said that all women are sluts and he'd rape me and my little cousin. That was the most disturbing. I ended up leaving the game because I was so upset.

4. Do you refrain from using your Mic in game because of fear of abuse from male gamers?

When I am in a game when the males are being really loud and obnoxious then I don't use it. I usually play with friends though so I'm pretty talkative. Sometimes you don't want to use your mic in a game with strangers because the converstation steers from the game to "Oh, you're a girl?"

5. Are you a part of any girl gaming clans or the Gamerchix Community, how is the experience for you if so.

I'm not a part of any girl gaming clans but I am a part of GamerchiX. It's pretty nifty. I enjoy playing with other females especially when they are on my same skill level.

6. Do you feel more needs to be done to combat the stereotype that gaming is only for males? What ideas do you have for this if any?

Yeah, more guys need to have their asses handed to them my a girl. :P Lol. That'll humble them up real quickly. But seriously, girl gamers should try and get their girl friends to try gaming. I turned two of my real life girl friends onto gaming. I've only been gaming for a year and I am hooked for life. :) I think girl clans help a lot in battling the male-dominated gaming world. It brings girls together and gives them sort of a safe-haven to hone their gaming skills.

Tonight is Team Fortress 2 GamerchiX Night. Yay! I've been praying for one of these for the longest. Lol. It's hosted by someone in London though so it's 8:00pm for them but it'll be 3:00pm here. *Edit: I just got done playing TF2 with some GamerchiX. I met a few cool ladies. I wish there had been more people though. There's another TF2 GamerchiX scheduled for tonight but I don't think I'm going to take part. I still have that damn migraine from yesterday. I have to say SORRY to Crucifux because I kinda blew him off when the GamerchiX first started playing. SORRY CRU! You're my bro!*

(Those of you who are Trouble in Paradise junkies like me will notice what that title refers to. TiP is in no way related to this post however. >.<)

Okay, so thanks to a lot of my friends' responses, I decided to call around to see how much it would be to rent an Xbox for 2 weeks. I found a place that would give it to me for $19.99 for 2 weeks because they were missing some essential pieces (cord/adapter) and I really only needed the core unit. Well, I call my best friend, Ryan to tell him that I put him down as a reference and he asks me, "Why don't you just borrow my Xbox until you get it back?" I am such an idiot! I had completely forgotten that he had a 360. He had a Wii, 360 and a PS3 but he sold his Wii and all of his 360 games so I just figured he had sold the 360 console too.

So, Ry has come to the rescue and now I don't have to pay a cent. Granted it was only $20 but I can save that money and go to a movie or something. NOT!

Anywho, I have three exams this weekend. Gah! I'm going to try and breeze through them so that I can focus on Fable II all next week.

I was looking at some Xbox developers' Live profiles the other day and I must say how jealous I am that a lot of them are already playing Fable II. That's so unfair. Lol. Don't worry, the previous comments stem solely from my jealousy. :P

Alright, I'm heading to bed. I've got a massive migraine.

I am so pissed. Fable II comes out on Tuesday and my fucking Xbox gave me the Ring of Death today and refuses to turn back on. I dunno what I'm going to do about Fable because I won't get my Xbox back for 1-2 weeks.
